Iran Missile Program

Hello Delegates,
Hope you guys are enjoying the articles we are sharing. For this week, I am sharing this very interesting article that talks about the Iran's Missile Program and the United States foreign policy towards them. The article goes into quite some depth to explain the types of missiles Iran has tried to acquire and why they failed. Hope you enjoy reading it!

  1. Thank you so much for sending this article to us! The text highlights various points surrounding the failures and attempts of Iran's determined ballistic missile program, and although still ways away, allows everyone - not just this committee - to understand the capabilities that Iran can have if they attained properly-developed ballistic missiles. Again, thank you for this information!

  2. "Left of launch" certainly seems to be the new fad for defense. Countries like Iran, North Korea, India, and Pakistan are possible belligerents for a nuclear conflict, and this article certainly helped to allow me to learn more specifically about developments to US policy in light of increasingly sophisticated missile programs.

Thank you for the interesting read!

  3. I find the points made in this article very interesting. From a personal standpoint, I am all for space exploration. The act of sabotaging seemingly innocent spacecraft and satellites seems to be absurd. However upon further explanation, I do see the benefits coming from this left of launch tactic. The first stage and engines of the rocket used are the exact same as those used in ballistic missiles. There is a clear threat and the success of spacecraft shows the probable success in launching weaponized payloads.
Though my county policy and my belief in committee will be to fully support left of launch strategies. It is great articles like these that change my personal opinion on a given topic as well as support the policy I will have in debate.

Thank you for the great read.
